Certified Apartment Caretaker Program
We have submitted the proposal for the course outline for the Certified Apartment Caretaker Program to Red River Community College and to the Technical College. Both colleges will provide an outline of the courses and costs to conduct the courses for the PPMA. We felt that the Colleges would provide a long-term and consistent delivery of the program rather than breaking the courses into components and then hiring different professionals to conduct them.
The proposals will be provided to PPMA in May at which time a small committee will review them and then meet with the Colleges to clarify the information. The committee will make a recommendation to the Board of Directors of PPMA to make the final decision.
The course is projected to begin in the fall of 2006.
At this time, I would also like to thank all the members that completed the surveys for us. It did indicate that the course outline we proposed is what the membership was looking for. Feedback from the membership is very important to deliver the services that the members want. We appreciate your time.
Suite Living and Upcoming Education Sessions
The seminars at the Suite Living were well attended and provided great education for PPMA members. We thank the following individuals who facilitated the workshops:
Lewena Bayer, In Good Company
Dianne Himbeault, CMHC
Laurence Rosenberg & Elizabeth Borsboom, The Accurate Technology Group
Constable Rob Carver, Winnipeg Police Department
Priti Shah, PRAXIS Conflict Consulting
Tanya Ducharme, Workplace, Safety & Health
Julian Sau & Deepak Joshi, City of Winnipeg
Jamie Hopkins & Tom Garbolinski, Manitoba Hydro
As a follow up to Suite Living, the committee are planning some educational sessions and inviting the Suite Living Conference presenters to facilitate them. From the surveys received after the conference, it was evident that many of the sessions were too short and there was much more that could be covered. Watch your e-mail for upcoming notices.
