On October 20,2000 Diane Bell conducted a seminar for on-site staff of rental complexes. The session was by 75 representatives of PPMA Member and Non-member companies including:
The morning session was presented by representatives of the Residential Tenancies Branch (Barbara Hill and Sylvia Macsai), who reviewed various section of the RTB Act, highlighting for the attendees the importance of understanding the basic provisions of the Act and reviewing policies and procedures.
During the afternoon session, discussion and presentations focused on some of the important "How To's", such as dealing with emergencies, care and maintenance of equipment, cleaning of common areas and building/suite presentation.
This seminar, the first of its kind, was both well received and well attended. We are encouraged by the participation of our industry representatives and employees and the willingness of the Residential Tenancies Branch to participate with the PPMA in this most worthwhile and important endeavour.
Due to overwhelming response in attendance at this inaugural seminar, Diane is already planning the second such session for early in the New Year.
