Residential Tenancies Branch/Commission Ombudsman
Through the Board of Directors of the PPMA, Jeff Itzkow, P. Eng., of AccuManagement Ltd., has been designated to act as ombudsman for members of the PPMA who have had problems dealing with the RTB and RTC.
Members who have complaints about dealings with the RTB and RTC, about rulings that they deem to be unfair or about unprofessional, unreasonable or biased conduct by people at the Branch or Commission, are asked to send their information to Jeff by email at jeff_itzkow@mts.net so that he can begin to compile a list of issues that we can take to the appropriate people to have looked into. Through this logging of events that have occurred to our members, we may be able to detect problems in the RTB and RTC's procedures and practices and also to report on the response time to our members requests for service. Some problems brought to Jeff's attention in the past have included long delays in obtaining Orders of Possessions and response time for Applications for Rent Increases above the guideline taking as long as 6 to 8 months for a determination.
In order for the information to be compiled in as detailed a form as possible, it is imperative that your reports to Jeff have the names of Officers involved and pertinent dates.
